New College Durham is an educational institution dedicated to helping individuals from all backgrounds, ages, and abilities, and aims to improve lives through education. We focus on contributing to social, economic, and environmental wellbeing while empowering everyone, including our employees, to reach their full potential.
Do not be misled by the word “new” in our name; we have a rich educational history spanning over one hundred years, having been established in 1977. Now, we are a multiple vocational college that has over 3,000 students and over 550 members of staff on campus.
We’re also proud to share our recent achievements, as a Larger Business of the Year Winner 2024, North East Apprenticeship Trained Provider/Programme of the Year 2024 winner, Beacon Awards Winner 2024, Better Health at Work Gold Award and are the first college in the North East to be awarded a ‘Strong’ skills rating from Ofsted.
